As he was promoting his new book and loudly
denouncing the Obama administration, Donald Rumsfeld was asked by a reporter if
he read McNamara’s book before going into Iraq.
He hadn’t, and still hasn’t. Self-examination has never appeared to be one
of his traits. At least McNamara had the
human decency to exhibit remorse, albeit late in life.
